Wordless Wednesday ~ Dilly Bars

On Saturday the boys had their first dilly bar from Dairy Queen. It seems strange that Lucian is almost three now and hasn't had one but don't feel too bad for him. He's had plenty of other DQ treats.

I was a little surprised that Lucian was slow and tentative and he didn't eat much. All he would say over and over again, "This is deeelicious!" Warren on the other hand was virtually silent and busy, mowing down almost the entire thing. He had to be slowed down or he would have gotten a bad ice cream headache.

It brings back the good ole' days to see them eat them. I couldn't help but think of my summers as a kid and going to DQ for my dilly bar treat. Sigh...

Wordless Wednesday ~ Me and My Boys!

I know what you are thinking. Could it be? Really? Pictures of me with my boys? Why yes, on our vacation I actually got a in a few shots with the boys playing at the resort's playground on one of the few nice days. I almost can't believe it. And then I compare how many shots my husband is in versus me and I realize it isn't all that amazing. I'm still usually the one taking the pictures so I am in such a small percentage. But I'll take it!

Wordless Wednesday - Fawns

For those of you who regularly visit my Wordless Wednesday post you will notice something different. Yes, I have only one picture. Crazy, I know! I normally include at least a few pictures for your viewing pleasure but I just had to share with you these two adorable fawns.

I caught them relaxing, basking in the sun in our backyard. We live in town but have over an acre of land and it is not unusual to see 8 or more deer in our yard at a time. They don't even seem to mind when we are outside and fairly close.

I used to say the deer were what has kept me from really having a garden or planting flowers since they love to nibble on anything and everything. But I'll admit that is really just my excuse for not liking to weed!

Wordless Wednesday ~ Backyard Fun

My husband finished assembling the new wooden swing set last week and now my boys get to enjoy the fruits of his labor. It is a great set (thanks Sam's Club!) with plenty of different things to do on it. Of course my boys are just daredevils so Lucian loves going down head first and Warren loves to climb up the slide, use the rock wall and climb the monkey bars ladder to be just like his big brother!

Wordless Wednesday ~ Waiting for Pancakes!

While making pancakes over the weekend I thought it would be nice to put Warren in his chair so he could watch me and to keep him from getting underfoot. Lucian thought this was such a good idea he pulled up his chair and climbed in too so he could watch.

What I couldn't resist was capturing some pictures to them both playing with their feet at the same time! Like two peas in a pod!

Wordless Wednesday ~ Does it Stick?

This is my son Warren being a goofball with his mac 'n cheese. And no your eyes are not deceiving you. That is him trying to see if he can get the macaroni to stick to his head. I have also seen him do this with cheerios. He is a total nut. And is without a bib only because he decided to rip it off as I started up the camera. Wordless Wednesday - More Zoo Fun!

Here are some great shots from our trip to the Como Park Zoo in St. Paul, MN. Lucian and Warren were in heaven! It was a super hot day but we still had a blast. I love how the animals and scenery look so good that they almost look fake! The last picture was our attempt at a family shot which also included our nephew Nathan.If you have never been to this zoo I highly recommend it as it is so much more than just a zoo!

Wordless Wednesday -Napping with Daddy!

Daddy and Lucian snuggling close while taking a nap at Grandma's house! They were both so tired!

Lucian is little out of it as he wakes up and wanders the house. Can you tell? I love the "dazed and confused" state right after a nap so I couldn't resist a few pictures.

Where am I? What is going on? Did I miss anything? What is up there?

Love the crazy hair! Cuddling with Daddy under a big blanket sure does make a little guy's hair wet. I actually had to change his shirt!

Wordless Wednesday - Mmmm... Cake!

MMM.... I love cake! Especially cake with green icing!

Oops! Green icing is so much fun! It is almost like finger paint that I can eat!

Mmm.... frosting! I'm just going to scrape it all off first and then MAYBE eat a little cake.

Wordless Wednesday - Fun in the Grass!

Warren's favorite thing to do outside is walk! Walk, walk and then walk around some more for endless fun! Second favorite thing? Trying to run in the grass! Just try and catch me, mommy! Third favorite thing? Sit in the grass and feel the different textures before getting back up to walk, walk and walk some more! How easily he is entertained and I'm happy to oblige!

Wordless Wednesday - Water Park!

Nothing says Memorial Day fun like hanging out with Daddy at the water park!

(Lucian is on the right in the picture above)

It took a bit for Lucian to be brave enough to go down the slide but once he did he couldn't stop!

Warming up in the hot tub for a minute. (It gets cold!)
Wonder what they are talking about or thinking???

As Lucian would say, "Here comes big bucket! SPLASH!"

Wordless Wednesday - Warren's Jungle Gym

Who needs a jungle gym when you have an ottoman? Warren's routine: climb up onto the ottoman, sit for 3-5 seconds looking all proud at the accomplishment and climb back down. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Over and over and over again more than a dozen times until he just can't quite make it up anymore. Lots of fun to watch!

Wordless Wednesday - Fun at the Park!

There is really no better way to spend the afternoon than going to the park with the boys. The fresh air always works to burn off some energy and they take great naps later. It feels good just to get outside, especially after a long Minnesota winter. I also love how easy it is to get fabulous pictures of the kids. The playground is a great backdrop and the kids are so thrilled to be there that it isn't tough to capture happy faces. (Can you tell I love hats?)

The only hard part is trying to get them into the car when it is time to go. Just one more time down the slide!!
