My Secret Circle {Review & Giveaway}

My Secret Circle is a fun new online environment sold exclusively at Justice stores and created specifically for the 8-12 year old girl not yet allowed on other social networking sites like Facebook. Once the keys are purchased, there are no additional fees, personal information or registration required.

According to their website:

Within the My Secret Circle™ world, your child can create their social circles. The My Secret Circle Access Key give your child access to journal, instant message, play games and photo share. Your child can also have access to unlimited online voice-chat with the My Secret Circle Voice-Chat Headset™.

My Secret Circle is secure in two ways:

1. Utilizing proprietary technology, the My Secret Circle Access Key™ contains an embedded code that is recognized by My Secret Circle’s™ private browser when connected to your computer. Because this unique code is located in a hardware solution; no personal information, registration or login is ever needed—and no one from the outside world can seek your child out.

Also while entered into the My Secret Circle world— the internet navigation bar is completely stripped away—meaning your child can never navigate outside of the circle to other websites.

2. My Secret Circle™ users must invite and exchange unique charms codes with real-life friends. My Secret Circle Friend Code™ Generator generates a unique 12 digit number. This number (Friend Code) must be exchanged through our invitation system.

The 12 digit number (Friend Code) is only good for one time use for one friend. It can never be reused by other non-approved friends. Anytime your child would like to add another “friend” to her circle, she must generate a new Friend Code, and her friend must own the access key.It is no secret that I am a mother of two little boys. So what am I doing reviewing a product for tween girls? I just happen to have a niece, Lilly, who is 11 and who loves to interact online and play games. She also has a very close friend, a BFF, whom she is in constant contact whether face to face or on the phone. I, being the cool aunt I am, decided to take the opportunity given to me to review this product, through her eyes. I think she thinks I'm the coolest aunt ever. (I think she already thought that but hey, it helps me retain my status.)

Lilly received the BFF pack which was perfect since it allowed her to give one to her best friend immediately. That was apparently one of the funnest aspects~ to be able to give something she got as a gift also to her best friend and immediately use it. Lilly's grandpa (my dad) helped her set it up and I hear it was pretty simple and user friendly.

They love it and use it all the time. One of their favorite features was being able to upload pictures, create a slide show and alter the pictures. I hear they were having a blast drawing horns on each other's pictures and having the people in the pictures say silly things. They also love communicating with each other. It also works great that it is easily portable. Lilly can easily bring it with her home or use it at her grandparents.

My sister loves that she is safe from predators with its unique code feature. I tried to get them to cough up something they don't like about My Secret Circle but they couldn't think of a single thing and they've been using it for a few weeks.

Simply-Bags {Review & Giveaway}

Simply-Bags is an specialty online retailer with a vast, and I do mean vast selection of bags and totes. Their bags can personalized or monogrammed and work great for yourself or make a very special gift. You will find everything from photo bags to cosmetic bags to laptop bags and so much more.

When trying to pick a bag out to review, I was a little overwhelmed by such a wide variety and it was hard to narrow my choices to just one bag. In the end I finally decided on this fun pink and brown duffle, complete with my name in pink embroidered on the front. Not only did I love the color combination but I really thought the pink crocodile detailing was a lot of fun and I really needed another workout or weekender bag.

I didn't know what to expect in terms of quality since I had never heard of Simply-Bags. I was afraid that the duffle would have a cheap, flimsy feel like many duffles I have had in the past. I was pleasantly surprised when I felt my new bag for the first time. The material is thick and soft and in no way feels cheap. There are two side pockets on the outside, perfect for holding small items like keys or a cell phone. There are also two zippered pockets on the inside. I love that there are 5 metal feet on the bottom and that added personal touch of my name. I couldn't be more thrilled!

Baby Crazy ~ Are You? {Review & Giveaway}

BabyCrazy is a direct selling company with independent sales consultants that specialize in unique baby products. This home party business started in 2002 and has grown from 6 representatives from that year to over a 1,000 at the end of 2008 in 48 states.

Angie Noe is a independent consultant located in Oklahoma with two small children of her own. She was the first representative in her state and loves selling for a company that makes their items affordable! (Feel free to contact Angie if you are interested in becoming a BabyCrazy representative.) She asked me to try out a couple of BabyCrazy products for myself and share my thoughts with my readers. After browsing the wide variety of cool products available I was more than happy to do a review!

One toy we received was the Floating Play Scene Amusement Park tub toy. The foam pieces stick easily to the side of the tub allowing for fun and simple play. Both the boys especially love this cool feature! The carousel is easily put together and attaches to a base that floats. As a mom I really appreciate that a mesh bag is included to allow the pieces to air dry and easy storage. This toy is recommended for ages 3 and up. The only concern about a younger child that I could see would be if the child tried to chew on the foam. There are no obvious small parts. Because the carousel is easily put together, it just as easily can be taken apart. I had to put the carousel back together a few times during our bath. However I would highly recommend this toy, specifically for its wonderfully fun ability to stick to the tub!

We also got to try out the Glitter Bumpie Skushi Ball in purple. Warren is a huge fan of balls so I knew he'd love it and of course I was right! This ball includes a straw for inflating and two plugs which makes it great for travel and storage. This ball inflates very quickly and gives you the ability to choose how hard you'd like the ball to be. For a younger child it works better to keep is a little softer and Warren loved being able to hold onto it easily. The only downside with this feature is that a child could pull the plug out as I caught Warren trying to do below.
You also need to keep track of where you put the straw and spare plug. However both my boys have had a lot of fun playing with the Glitter Bumpie Skushi Ball. Keep in mind that this toy is also recommended for ages 3 and up.

Today's Farm Freeze -dried Fruit {Review & Giveaway}

I'm very lucky to be blessed with two boys who both love fruit and see it as the best snack ever. I've been able to bribe my oldest with fruit many a time. One thing I am always on the lookout for is new ways to satisfy their fruit cravings, especially with something portable and less messy.

Today's Farm Freeze-dried Fruit arms me with a great snack that is totally open to bribery with my boys and healthy for them at the same time. It comes in four delicious varieties: cinnamon apples, strawberry, peach and pineapple. My husband enjoyed the apple & cinnamon flavor most of all since the others were a bit sweet for him but my boys enjoyed all the flavors equally as much. The apples and strawberries were fast favorites for me.

I realize looking at these pictures my boys look like walking advertisements for Today's Farm but actually the posed looks came naturally. They really enjoyed the freeze dried strawberries!
My only recommendation would be to watch how much you handle the package. Lucian repeatedly asked to try the strawberries and kept walking around with them. I would say the bag was about 1/3 smaller because the fruit and been smooshed and turned to dust.

Who Loves YoBaby?!! {Review & Giveaway}

I was first introduced to YoBaby yogurt by my daycare provider when my oldest son Lucian was about 8 months old. She recommended it as another healthy option to get both fruit and dairy into his diet. I was so happy to have found it in my local grocery store because my son Lucian totally fell in love with yogurt!

mmm...Bake Me a Wish {Review & Giveaway}

Bake Me a Wish delivers gourmet birthday cakes nationwide and is run from a award-winning family bakery in New York. They pride themselves on only using the finest ingredients and yet can offer this service at a very reasonable price!

When I was asked to review a Bake Me a Wish cake, how could I possibly refuse? Normally I'm not a big cake eater. I have particular tastes for baked goods. I can only handle a small piece of traditional cake with buttercream frosting because it gets too sweet. I do however love decadent desserts like cheesecake and brownies so when I saw the description of the two Singular Sensation cakes to choose from, I knew I'd enjoy either of them!
I decided on the Double Fudge Crunch and was not disappointed. It tasted truly like a big brownie and was super sinful and delicious. My almost three ear old son devoured the chocolate name plaque that had the words "Thank You" on it and asked for more! While this is listed for someone singly, it would be a lot for one person to eat in a single sitting. It could be perfectly divided into three or four pieces.

My only complaint would be that the top was a little bit melted but I'm sure that is because the package sat outside my door for at least an hour in the sun. It certainly didn't affect the taste, it only made the message less clear.

I cut it in half so you could get a feel for what the inside is like! Doesn't it look scrumptious?

Baby Signs Pop Up Book & $50 Babies 'R Us Gift Card {Review & Giveaway}

It is no secret that I love reading to my children and am a bit of a book hog. Both of my boys also love reading books to themselves. I enjoy the quality time spent cuddling up with them and reading a book. But did you know I love signing with them as well? We've been huge fans of the show Signing Time and both my boys can sign. Lucian (my almost three year old) can sign a couple dozen words and recognizes so many more. Warren (my 16 month old) knows about a dozen signs like all done, milk, cracker, bird, sleep, sad, baby, go, stop. It helps reinforce what I am trying to communicate when I also sign it at the same time. They seem to appreciate another way to tell me what they are thinking or what they want. It is so exciting the first time your child signs. It opens up a whole new world of language with your child!

Naturally when I was asked to review the new book, Baby Signs I jumped at the opportunity to combine two of my favorite things, signing and books. Amazingly we didn't have a book that incorporated signs yet and I love another outlet besides videos in which to learn new signs.
This book is probably the most complex and spectacular book I've ever seen. The intricate pop ups are stunning. The detail is AMAZING!!! What more can I say? Just look at these photos to give you an idea of what I mean.
Lucian loved being able to make the action of the sign with the pull tabs and Warren loved the pop ups. The only downside I can see with this book is its fragility. My youngest loves pulling books off our bookshelf and reading them by himself. This can not be one of those books. I currently have it hidden to avoid it getting unintentionally damaged. I also have to pay attention when I'm reading it that my son doesn't try to rip the poor boy's head off. That being said, I think this book is totally worth it!

Synopsis: BABY SIGNS is based on American Sign Language and will help encourage the use of non-verbal gestures to communicate. Research has proven that babies who are taught to use signs to express their basic ideas before they can say words are happier because they can communicate with others.
