Not Me! Monday - #14

I love Not Me! Monday created by My Charming Kids so I’ll take this time to reflect on what I did not do this past week. Please take a moment to visit MckMama's blog see what she has not been up to herself.

Earlier this past week I was not distracted when I turned on the oven to preheat and put a pot of water to boil on the back burner. I did not place a cookie sheet with popcorn chicken waiting to go into the oven on the front burner. I did not go into the dining room and read a couple of emails on the laptop and suddenly hear the smoke alarm going off. Of course I did not look at the stove (I have a perfect view of the dining room) only to see smoke coming off from the popcorn chicken and see that the FRONT burner was turned on high instead of the back. So instead of boiling my water I was cooking my cookie sheet of chicken. I would never let this happen so of course it couldn't have. I also wouldn't have quickly removed all evidence so when my hubby came in to shut off the loud alarm, he just assumed some little piece of food was left on the burner. I would of course not let him think that if it weren't true and if it were, I certainly wouldn't blog about it knowing I might be found out. I may have stained a really great cookie sheet.

My little guy Warren did not get into yet another accident in the bathtub. He didn't slip and knock his little head on the knob of the bathtub that opens and closes the drain. (Anyone know what that is called?) He did not freak me out with this goose egg that formed almost immediately. Thankfully Google calmed me since it is apparently common. His noggin may have looked considerably better this morning after icing it last night and giving it a chance to go down.

My husband did not finally give in and agree to buy a minivan. The picture above is not our newer (2006) minivan sitting in our driveway. This couldn't be since not even a month ago I couldn't convince my husband to get anything other than a Subaru Forrester, despite my insistance we needed more room for passengers and to haul stuff since we don't have a truck. He didn't suddenly agree and decide we needed one, NOW. So this must simply be a mirage!

Check out my last week's Not Me! Monday post if you haven't gotten a chance to already!

Love your post. I have NOT had those kitchen moments (burned the quesadillas on Friday). My son has NOT had injuries from the tub (slipped and has bruise on backside). I have NOT had those days when I am in my jammies and robe 'til noon(as I write this I am still in my jammies and robe). I hope Warren's wound heals quickly. Take care.

I have never done that stove thing either. Never did I make that mistake, and when my former roommate pulled a freshly baked cake out of the oven and placed it on top of the burner that was NOT on, It did NOT form a beautiful BLACK circle, in the exact shape of the burner, on the bottom of her cake...

Head wounds are so frightening! I hope he is okay.

Enjoy your van! Good job on convincing the hubby. He will never go back, promise.

Aw poor little guy. Thankfully they heal quickly.

And congrats on the minivan! We bought a used Dodge Grand Caravan, and I can't imagine life without it!
