Skippyjon Jones Board Book Giveaway

I've heard the first step to overcoming an addiction is to openly admit it. "Hi, my name is Emilie and I'm a book addict!" Wow, that feels good to get off my chest. I don't have to hide it anymore.

Seriously, I do have a lot of books for my kids. I should take my boys to the library and check out books to read new ones but I don't. I take the even easier (and more expensive) route of buying them.

With two boys so close in age there really hasn't been much of a need to get my youngest toys and they are starting to clutter the house. We do buy a couple special for him but we try to limit it. Our older son needs toys because they have to grow with him. But what do you buy the younger son who doesn't need any more toys? Books. A lot of books. Never mind that his older brother has also always been a huge fan of books and we already had a nice collection built. But who would say, "Oh no, not another book?" I know as the reader of these books, I do appreciate something new and different to read. But is it necessary? They still have their favorites and while it is nice to discover a new favorite it still becomes a hassle to keep them organized.

Perhaps I did buy a few too many books for Warren for his first birthday, as my mother so kindly pointed out. Therefore, I'd like to give away one of the many adorable books I bought for him. He won't even know he didn't receive it. Trust me.

I'm giving away the board book, Skippyjon Jones Shape Up. You can read a review over at Amazon and decide if this would be a hit in your house. It looks like a winner to me!

Win it:
To enter simply tell me your child's favorite book OR the book you most enjoy to read to your child or a loved one.

I'm such a book lover! I think it's so important to read to my boys. The favorite at our house for the little guys is Mouse Mess by Linnea Riley. I have three boys who could each recite the entire thing by the age of three. And great art, to boot.
Thanks for sharing the Skippyjon Jones book. They love him too.

My son's favorite book, and one I love to read, is "If I were a Polar Bear." It's a full-sized pop-up book that is as catchy with its writing, as it is in design.

"If I were a Polar Bear, I'd be so proud. When I reached the pole, I'd growl out loud. But adventure awaits, so off I'd go. One step ahead of my tracks in the snow."

I love to read books to my grandchildren or any other children that may come to my house. I keep a collection of books just for that purpose. One of my favorites is "Brown Bear Brown Bear" because it is simple and on the second reading the child can start to help "read" the story. The pictures are bright and attractive and the text is short and simple so it appeals to those with a short attention span also. It is just a great all around book!!

I am a very, very, very big bookworm. I own close to 800 (and counting!) books. My son's collection is about close to 300 (and he's only 2 and a half!).

We love books at our house. We also love libraries (but not as much as owning books!)

Collin's favorite book right now is a new one we borrowed from the library, but will probably purchase because he loves it so much: "Penguins" by Liz Pichon.

Jennifer said...

I follow your blog.

Another book I love to read to him: "It's Time to Sleep My Love" by Nancy Tillman

Jennifer said...

I subscribe via email.

And we LOVE the entire "Pigeon" series by Mo Willems. Especially, "The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog"
